The JAPAN RAIL PASS is a special fare ticket that is avaiable only to travelers visiting Japan from foreign countries for sighseeing. To be eligble to purchased a JAPAN RAIL PASS you must meet one of the following two conditions.
1. You are Vietnamese and foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sightseeing with the stamp of "Temporary visitor" status
According to Japanese Immigration Law, foreign tourists are allowed a stay in Japan of 15 days or 90 days for sightseeing when you enter Japan, entry personnel will stamp your passport as "Temporary Visitor" (see the picture sample below.)
Only persons who have a passport bearing this stamp can use a JAPAN RAIL PASS
Note:
+ Exchange Order cannot be turned into JAPAN RAIL PASS if your status without stamp of "Temporary Visitor"
+ If you enter Japan under any other official status such as "Trainee", "Entertainer", or Reentry Permit" , you also cannot change to JAPAN RAIL PASS
Please note that according to strict interpretation of the Japannese Immigration Law, "Temporary Visitor" status differs even from other types of stays that are also for only short time periods.
2. You are a Japanese national living outside of Japan who meets the following conditions.
a. Who has the right of permanent residence in that country: In this case, the person must provide written proof of the following:
+ Right of permanent residence: An applicant's residence certificate for stays of five or more years is subjected to verification (For details on required documents in Vietnam, please check with Oreen Travel's office with hotline: +8490 486 5533.
+ That they are living in a country other than Japan.
b. Who is married to non-Japanese residing in a country other than Japan: In this case, the person must provide written proof of the following:
+ That they are living in a country other than Japan
+ That they are married to a foreign national
+ That their spouse (a foreign national) is living outside Japan.
*** If an applicant is unable to provide written proof that he or she meets condition (a) or (b) and the clerk is unable to verify compliance using electronic data or other means. the PASS may be denied.
